As cybersecurity requirements continue to evolve across the defense supply chain, Coastal Machine & Supply is proud to announce that we are pursuing CMMC Level 2 compliance.
For our partners, this means greater confidence that sensitive data is handled within a secure environment. We look forward to continuing to support our customers while contributing to stronger national security.
Why CMMC?

CMMC is designed to improve the security of the defense industrial base and protect sensitive information. For customers, this translates to reduced risk and greater supply chain integrity.
At Coastal, we view becoming compliant as part of our responsibility as a defense machine shop. As requirements across the industry become more formalized, we remain committed to being a supportive long-term partner to our defense industry customers while contributing to critical national priorities.
This is why we pursued CMMC compliance proactively.
A Structured, Practical Approach to Compliance
To meet CMMC requirements, we partnered with Sentinel Blue. They guided us through a structured, end-to-end implementation process.
While the framework was new for us, the foundation was already in place.
We have long operated with disciplined systems as an AS9100 certified machine shop and ITAR-registered manufacturer, enabling us to be a reliable partner for highly-regulated industries, including aerospace, defense, space, and oil and gas.
This existing structure gave us a solid starting point. With Sentinel Blue’s support, we strengthened our policies and evaluated existing systems in our shop, working from the ground up to build the highest level of security across our organization.
How Compliance Is Part of Daily Operations
Each department in our precision machine shop plays a key role in maintaining compliance. It truly is a collaborative effort across the shop floor.
From quoting to shipping, processes are structured to ensure controlled access. For example, to maintain documentation and complete traceability, every component is photographed before shipment. To meet CMMC Level 2 requirements, we ensure these part photos are handled securely.
Even everyday operational tools and devices are managed under controlled policies to help maintain data integrity and protect customer information.
We also work with suppliers to ensure alignment with cybersecurity expectations by passing down contract requirements and maintaining secure data handling practices.
Committed to Secure Manufacturing
Working towards CMMC Level 2 compliance reinforces the trust between Coastal Machine & Supply and the customers we serve. This represents an ongoing commitment to continuously improving our systems and managing customer data in a secure manner to support the evolving needs of the defense industry.
